Scorpions!! CHANGE YOUR CONCERT SET!!

So I saw the Scorpions about two years ago at the L.A. Forum.  It was the bands 50’th anniversary tour!  50!  I figured I had to go.  It was a great show and the band sounded tight.  Sure, there was a little down tuning because Klaus Meine is in his late 60’s.  But they were only down a step and the songs retained their urgency and excitement.  Similar to how Judas Priest sound.  Which is quite excellent.  Needless to say it was a satisfying experience.  Certainly a show that stand out as one of the better ones.

However, I’m pretty disappointed in the Scorps right now.  They’re currently on what’s being promoted as ‘The Crazy World’ tour.  Which makes sense because shit’s crazy and it’s one of their best albums.  The tour has already been done obviously but it’s the themes of the late 80’s and early 90’s material from the band that seems more relevant than ever.  So it was much to my disappointment when I saw the current set list for the tour.  It’s the exact same as the set from the 50th anniversary!!  Give or take a song or two:  ‘Coming Home’ and another song or two.  That’s it!  And not only that, but they aren’t even songs from ‘Crazy World’.  The only song from the album that’s being played is ‘Winds of Change’.  WEAK!

Not only that, but the tickets are sky high through the roof on price.  Over 500$ for the tickets.  500!!  For the same set that I saw two years ago??!!  C’mon guys, I know you can do better.  I know it may have been a while since you’ve played ‘Unholy Alliance’, if ever.  But I’m sure you can relearn the song in 30 minutes.  You’re professional musicians for crying out loud.  It’s not like you have to learn a Dream Theater song.  Anyways, I’m thinking about turning in my tickets I’m so upset.  I got them thinking that the show would be focused on the ‘Savage Amusement’ through ‘Face the Heat’ eras, which are my favorite.  Again, it’s the ‘Crazy World’ tour.  We don’t need to hear the 20 minute long 70’s medley.  That was for the 50th anniversary, which made a lot of sense for that tour.  It doesn’t for this one.  Most people in the states don’t have particular sentimental memories of those albums anyways.  You guys didn’t blow up here until 79/80.  And to top it all off, you guys cut ‘No One Like’ you from the set.  That’s blasphemy!  That’s one of your biggest hits ever in your 50 year career.

Now maybe, hopefully, I’m speaking to soon.  The states side tour has yet to start and there’s always time for last minute adjustments.  If you’re having trouble coming up with a set list allow me to assist.

Now that’s a ‘Crazy World’ tour set list right there!  Why can’t they tour with these songs?  I think people would go crazy (no pun intended) for this set list.  These are the songs that are going to resonate with audiences with what’s going on in this country.  No matter what your political ideals are.  It’s just a big let down that they’re doing the same old songs they’ve been doing for the past 28 months now.  Anyways, what are some of your fantasy Scorpions set lists?  Would you include more 70’s work or not?  Let me know in the comments.

They need to play this one.

Unholy Alliance is a very appropriate song for today’s market.  I’m not sure if they’ve ever played this one live.

And WE WANT TO HEAR LOVEDRIVE!  It’s down tuned a step here and still sounds great.

C’mon guys.  CHANGE THAT SET!!
