Ozzy And Tony Iommi Reunite For Brief Show At Commonwealth Games

The fans of the original line up of Black Sabbath were treated to a rare show recently. During the British Commonwealth Games, Tony Iommy and Ozzy Osbourne reunited to play a few short Sabbath classics.

The two metal legends got together to play ‘Paranoid’ and an abridged version of ‘Iron Man.’ Bill Ward and Brad Wilks replacement Tommy Clufetos, the touring drummer for Black Sabbath during their final years, naturally sat in on the drums. While Sabbath and Ozzy keyboard veteran Adam Wakeman commanded bass duties.

The choice to play at the closing ceremony was obvious. As the Commonwealth Games were held in Birmingham. And with Tony Iommi’s involvement on the new Ozzy Osbourne album, it’s even more clear that this would be the only way to close out the games. What’s crazy is that Osbourne is back on his feet in full force after ‘major surgery.’ After a fall three years ago resulting in dislodged neck and back rods. Metal implants that help keep the aging rocker going. He finally had the surgery to fix the problem no more than a few months ago. And he’s back on his feet. Giving all the energy he can. Despite his voice aging a bit. Getting up and moving around like he did surely couldn’t be doctor recommended.

This all comes as Ozzy is set to release a new solo album. And an assuming new tour. Perfect publicity for what’s hopefully going to be a fruitful, late career trek.
